2 Carat Oval Lab Diamond Hidden Halo Engagement Ring – 14K White Gold
This ring is built around a 2.0 carat oval brilliant lab diamond set in a hidden halo pave design. The oval shape is the most flattering cut for creating the appearance of length on the finger — its elongated outline makes both the stone and the finger appear larger than they are. The hidden halo sits flush beneath the center stone’s girdle, adding a ring of diamonds that you only fully see from the side or from below. From directly above, the center diamond appears to float in a clean setting. The pave band adds continuous sparkle along the shank, connecting the hand to the center cluster in one unbroken line of light.

Why This Design Works
The oval cut has become one of the most requested engagement ring shapes because of how it interacts with the hand. Oval brilliant diamonds have the same 57-facet light performance as round brilliants — cut for maximum brightness and fire — but the elongated shape creates a visual illusion that makes the stone look larger face-up than a round of the same carat weight. On the finger, the oval’s length runs along the finger, making the hand appear slimmer and the ring appear bigger.
The hidden halo takes advantage of this geometry. Rather than sitting around the perimeter of the stone (which would interrupt the clean oval outline from above), the halo is set below the girdle, tucked under the stone. The result: a clean, unobstructed oval from above; a glittering ring of diamonds visible from the side and in person. The pave band carries that sparkle all the way around, so the ring looks active and bright from every angle.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hidden halo and how is it different from a regular halo?
A standard halo surrounds the center stone at the same level — you see both the center diamond and the halo diamonds when looking straight down at the ring. A hidden halo is set below the girdle of the center stone, so from directly above you see only the center diamond. The halo diamonds are visible from the side and from below, adding significant sparkle without changing the silhouette of the ring from above. It’s the cleaner, more modern version of the halo — you get the extra brilliance without the visual busyness of a visible diamond border.
Why does the oval shape look larger than a round diamond of the same carat weight?
Carat is a measure of weight, not size. Oval diamonds are cut shallower and longer than rounds, which means more of the diamond’s weight is distributed across the face of the stone rather than into the depth. A 2.0 carat oval typically has a face-up surface area about 10–15% larger than a 2.0 carat round. Combined with the elongated shape running along the finger, an oval creates a significantly more impressive visual presence for the same carat weight — and price.
What does F color VS1 clarity mean?
F is the third grade on the GIA color scale, sitting in the colorless range. To the naked eye, an F diamond looks completely white with no detectable tint. In white gold, which provides a neutral backdrop, colorless grades like F appear particularly bright and clean. VS1 (Very Slightly Included) means the diamond has inclusions that require magnification to find — it is completely eye-clean. Both grades represent excellent quality at a point that gives you visual perfection without paying the premium for D/FL.
What is pave setting on the band?
Pave (pronounced “pah-vay”) means the band is set with small diamonds positioned very close together, held by tiny prongs or beads so the metal beneath is barely visible. The effect is that the band appears to be paved in diamonds — a continuous surface of sparkle from knuckle to setting. On this ring, 50 diamonds in E/VS1 quality run along the band, adding 0.50 carats of additional diamond weight and making the ring look brilliant from every angle, not just face-up.
How many diamonds are in this ring total?
51 diamonds in total: 1 center stone (2.0 carats, oval brilliant) and 50 pave and hidden halo diamonds (E color VS1, totalling 0.50 carats). Combined total carat weight is 2.50 carats.
Can I change the metal?
Yes. This ring can be made in 14K or 18K gold in yellow, white, or rose, or in platinum. Contact us before ordering — call 917-477-8663 or message through the site. 14K white gold is shown in the photos.
Can I choose a different center stone size?
Yes. We can build this design with an oval brilliant center from 1 to 4 carats. Call 917-477-8663 with your budget and we’ll price it out. Different colour and clarity grades are also available.
Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes — chemically and physically identical to a mined diamond. Same carbon crystal structure, same hardness of 10, same refractive index and light performance. The only difference is origin. This diamond comes with an IGI certificate confirming its cut, colour, clarity, and carat weight.
